Dictionary for Mobile Devices with OS Android
Damborský, Tomáš ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with design and implementation of dictionary application for mobile device with an Android OS. The key feature of application is ability to perform fulltext search. This is achieved by using the SQLite database with Full Text Search extension. SQLite databases are generated from source lexical data in Lexical Markup Framework format.
Managing Dictionaries in XML
Michalová, Romana ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper describes the system that manages XML dictionaries which are at the LMF form. The dictionaries can be accessed on the server or locally. XML BaseX stores the dictionaries and one is able to compare, show, edit or create them. XSLT is used for visualization and XPath with XQuery are used for editing, navigating and going through the XML data.
XML Dictionary Tagging
Vavrečan, Lukáš ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with processing of electronic dictionaries in the LMF format, their analysis and conversion into an unified form. The aim is to create a system, that can make the machine processing of dictionaries easier, thanks to the mass changes. We will introduce the necessary technology, especially Python3, format XML and LMF.
Multiword Expression Search on Android Mobile Devices
Babič, Vojtěch ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis explores current mobile dictionary user interfaces focusing on multiword expression search support. The goal of this thesis is to design a system which can index large dictionaries and then search in them effectively. An Android application which allows user to search in multiword expressions containing inflected forms quickly was developed to demonstrate the system. A second part describes dictionary formats, their usage and features. The first dictionary format is Lexical Markup Framework, in which source dictionaries are stored and which are used to create indexed dictionaries from. Another format explained is StarDict, which was meant to be a main storage format for the implemented Android application, but an own database dictionary format supporting full-text indexes was developed instead.
XML Databases for Dictionary Data Management
Samia, Michel ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The following diploma thesis deals with dictionary data processing, especially those in XML based formats. At first, the reader is acquainted with linguistic and lexicographical terms used in this work. Then particular lexicographical data format types and specific formats are introduced. Their advantages and disadvantages are discussed as well. According to previously set criteria, the LMF format has been chosen for design and implementation of Python application, which focuses especially on intelligent merging of more dictionaries into one. After passing all unit tests, this application has been used for processing LMF dictionaries, located on the faculty server of the research group for natural language processing. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of this application are discussed and ways of further usage and extension are suggested.
Search in Large Dictionary Databases for Mobile Devices on Android Platform
Krška, Matúš ; Dytrych, Jaroslav (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This work studies persisting of dictionary data in LMF format and means of working with it. It analyses options for parsing XML files in which the LMF data is usually stored. This work evaluates existing solutions on the Android platform. It presents its own solution in form of an Android application which is based on presented data and function models. Implementation is focused on resolving problems of multi-word expression searching, context example searching and creation of simple graphical user interface suitable for displaying search results. This work evaluates achieved results based on tests performed on real users.
XML Dictionary Tagging
Sýkora, Michal ; Šilhavá, Jana (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the management of dictionary data in XML format, especially the family of XML standards and their use in work with dictionaries. In addition, the system for their storage, specifically DEB II.The practical part show a dictionaries transfer to the LMF standard, installation and launching DEB II. In conclusion is discussion about the advantages and disadvantages of the system.
Generating Validation Schemata for XML
Hložek, Bohuslav ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The project analyses XML LFM dictionary.  Schematron schema is created and XML with description of attribute values is created. The project is coded in Python 3.4.
A Tool for Editing and Comparing LMF Dictionaries
Fešar, Marek ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis presents dictionary formats and focuses on principles and semantics of data storage using Lexical Markup Framework. Contains information on relationship between the framework and Data Category Registry, which is part of the ISO standard for further dictionary data specification. After that, the Oracle Berkeley database system for XML document storage is mentioned followed by approaches for addressing documents and its portions. Methods for dictionary comparison are being described as well as grouping and changing dictionary content. Help on the process of dictionary modification must be provided to the user in the way of showing expected features, relevant to the selected element.
